Atomic Science Privacy Notice  

 

 

 

Here at Atomic Science, we can scientifically prove that we are committed to maintaining the trust of our sites visitors. With this in mind, we want you to know that we have never and will never be in the business of selling on emails or any other information that we gather when processing an order for one of our products. Whether it is an after-school club, workshop for your school or birthday party! In case you don’t believe us, we have conducted an experiment into when and why we collect your personal data, what we use it for and how we keep it secure. We will be listing the results in this statement.

School Consent​

We use school information that is readily available on the internet and will only contact schools whose phone numbers are not registered with TPS. We also use the UK Education Data for which your school will have provided consent to the data organisation for our company to contact you. We will only ever contact schools regarding services that may be genuinely be of interest to them and may help them achieve targets on their School Improvement Plan.

When do we collect your personal data?​

- When you visit our website and complete a 'contact us' form.

- When you respond to an 'opportunity' email.

- When you engage with us on social media.

- When you contact us by any means with regards to complaints.

- When you book a meeting with us.

We collect data from publicly-available sources when you given consent to share information, uploaded your own information to a publicly available source or where information is made public as a matter of law

What type of information do we retain on file?​

- First and last name

- School name

- Mobile number (if provided)

- Contact number

- Email address

Why we collect your data

We want to make schools aware of any opportunity that may be of legitimate interest to you with regards to your school, or your child. We also want school information on file so we can make aware the schools of any changes to the services in their area. We will only store personal information that helps us to function as a business.

You have the right to request access to your personal data - to do this please email us.

You can also request us to delete all information we hold on you - which we will unless we are legally obliged to hold it.

Lawful Basis​

Here at Atomic Science we do collect some of your general personal data (email address etc) and also some more sensitive date (such as your child's name and age). Rest assured, we do keep this information protected in our systems. Our Lawful Basis for collecting the information is 'legitimate interest' - We need the information to process your data correctly and ensure the safety of your child at an after school club for example.

Cookie Policy 

Here you can find our information on ‘Cookies’, unfortunately not the edible ones! Our website, like many others, does use cookies to collect information. This includes pages viewed, how long for etc. It maps our customers journey around our website. 

What are cookies and how do we use them? 

Cookies are small data files which are placed onto your computer or other small device (ipad/phone etc.) as you browse our website these small data files are used to ‘remember’ when your computer or device accesses our website – although we don’t use cookie driven marketing, this means we won’t automatically advertise to you when a similar product is coming on sale with us – because we know that our product is experience driven and if you / your child enjoys the experience we hope you will contact us to book again.

There are two types of cookies used on our site, but as we said… We won’t use any information found using them to market products to you, or sell on your information. The two types of cookies used are: 

Session (Transient) cookies: these cookies are erased when you close your browser, and do not collect information from your computer. They typically store information in the form of a session identification that does not personally identify the user.

 

Persistent (Permanent/Stored) cookies: these cookies are stored on your hard drive until they expire (i.e based on a set expiration date) or until you delete them. These cookies are used to collect identifying information about the user, such as Web surfing behavior or user preferences for a specific site.

If you choose to disable cookies - some websites including ours may not function properly. Due to the way it was created. If you disable third party cookies you will not be prevented from purchasing through our site. 

 

Google Analytics 

 

When someone visits www.atomicscience.org - we use a third party service from ‘Google’ (you may have heard of them…) this allows us to find out the number of visitors to the website and which part of our website they explored. All this information is to us is numbers, we don’t make an effort to find out the identity of the people exploring the website in any way.     

 

Ticketing data - (Basically when you buy something from us…)

When you purchase a  place on an after school club from us (or a birthday party), we collect: 

Your Name, your child’s name, a contact number, school name, who collects the child (not needed for birthday party), any health concerns and school year. 

We need this information to process registers for the clubs and we do not pass any information on to any other company or individual. All of the information submitted for this is collected via protected email addresses. It is then populated onto registers and only shared with the school your child goes to. To ensure the safety of children we make sure the school as well as us, know who is attending the club. 

If you are interested in purchasing any other product from us you are required to get in touch via email or call. 

 

Sharing Data

We only share data collected via our website with the school that your child goes to (if an after school club is ordered). This is to ensure the safety of children so staff at the school and Atomic Science staff know who should be with them at what time. 

If you order a birthday party with us - we do not share ANY of the data provided with any third parties. 

 

Access to your personal information

You are entitled to view, amend or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to Tom on Tom@atomicscience.org

 

Changes to this Privacy Notice 

We will review this privacy policy annually. This policy was last reviewed on 18th May 2018.
